Definition
Constant of Proportionality the value that relates two amounts
Direct Variation mathematical relationship between two variables that can be expressed by an equation in which one variable is equal to a constant times the other
Linear Equation that makes a straight line when it is graphed
Point-slope form y – y1 = m(x – x1), where m is the slope and (x1, y1) is a point on the line.
Slope A number which is used to indicate the steepness of a line, as well as indicating whether the line is tilted uphill or downhill. Slope is indicated by the letter m.
x-intercept the set of all possible "x" values;input,independent variable,
y-intercept the set of all possible "y" values;output, dependent variable
Unit Rate the ratio of two measurements in which the second term is 1
Rate of Change The speed at which a variable changes over a specific period of time.
