coefficient numerical factor of the term, (the number in front and multiplying to the variable)
factor part of an expression that is multiplied
expression mathematical phrase that contains operations, numbers and/or variables
equation Mathematical statement that two expressions are equal
numerical expression mathematical phrase that contains operations between ONLY numbers
algebraic expression mathematical phrase that contains operations, with at LEAST ONE Variable
natural numbers counting numbers 1,2,3,…
whole numbers Counting numbers and zero 0,1,2,3,…
integers Whole numbers and their opposites '-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,..
rational numbers fractions and ratios, decimals that terminate or repeat 1/4 0.25 or 1/3 0.3333 repeating
irrational numbers Non repeating Non terminating decimals ∏ Pi √2
constant Numerical part of an expression that has no variable.
