stoichiometry chemistry calculations that deal with the amount of substances in chemical reactions
mole ratio a ratio between any two substances in a chemical reaction using the coefficients from the balanced reaction equation
limiting reactant the reactant that is used up first during a chemical reaction; the reactant that determines the amount of product that can form in a reaction
excess reactant the reactant that is left over at the end of a chemical reaction
theoretical yield the maximum amount of product that could form in a chemical reaction, calculated from the balanced chemical reaction equation
actual yield the amount of product that forms when a chemical reaction is carried out in a laboratory
percent yield the ratio of the actual yield to the theoretical yield for a chemical reaction; a measurement of the efficiency of a reaction
