| Solute | The substance being dissolved |

| Suspention | Particles settling to the bottom of a solvent |
| Concentrated | A lot of solvent, little solute |
| Diluted | A lot of solute, little solvent |
| Saturation | Maximum amount of solute possible |
| Temperature and solutions | Effects the rate at which the solute is dissolved |
| Crystalisation | Formation of crystals when a hot solution is cooled or when the solvent is allowed to evapourate |
