Onomatopoeia use of a word or phrase that actually imitates the sound that is made
Personification figure of speech in which an animal, object, or idea is described as having human form or characteristics
Simile a comparison between two seemingly unlike things using "like" or "as"
Alliteration repeating of the same consonant sound, usually at the beginning of the word
Narrative Writing written for the purpose of entertaining an audience of others
Expository Writing written for the purpose of informing an audience of others
Persuasive Writing written for the purpose to persuade or convince the audience to think or believe as the author does
