TermDefinition
numerator The top number of a fraction that tells how many parts of a whole are in the fraction
denominator The bottom part of a fraction that tells how many equal parts are in the whole
equivalent fractions Fractions that are equal in value
improper fractions A fraction that has a numerator greater than or equal to its demonimator
mixed number Fractions that have a whole number part and a fraction part
reciprocal The inverse of a fraction, whose product is one
GCF (Greatest Common Factor) The greatest factor two numbers have in common
LCD (Least Common Denominator) The least common mulitple of the denominators of two fractions
LCM (Least Common Multiple) The smallest multiple that 2 or more numbers have in common
