stifled - joint next above the hock in hind leg of a quadruped corresponding to human knee

encumbrance - claim against property
semblance - state of being somewhat like something but not truly same thing
vigilance - quality/state of being wakeful/alert
embarkation - to go on board a vehicle/transportation - to make a start
indifference - lack of interest in/concern about something
grimace - facial expression in which your mouth & face are twisted in a way that shows disgust, disapproval/pain
tether - rope/chain that is used to tie animal to post, wall
contagion - process by which a disease is passed from one person/animal to another by touching
hillock - small hill
plaintive - expressing suffering/sadness
beseeching - to bed (someone) for something
rivet - special kind of metal bolt/pin that is used to hold pieces of metal together
spasmodically - resembling a spasm especially in sudden violence
liquidated - to pay all the money owed for - destroy (something) or kill (someone)
