| Lead - In | in the tv studio, the anchor introduces the story, "Tonight a fire had broken out at the bakery..." |
| Set Up | The reporter, usually on location, grabs audience attention and introduces the images you're about to see. |
| Sound Bites | Short audio pieces of interviews are mixed in with video clips. For example, the owner of the bakery says, "My life savings was in that bakery..." |
| Voice Overs | The reporter talks while the video is playing. Usually, the reporter explains the imaages on the screen. "The flames are rising and the bakery is crumbling." |
| Back Announcing | After the video clips, the reporter briefly sums up the main points of the story. "Again, a fire has destroyed the town bakery..." |
| Stand Up | The reporter addresses the camera and the anchor with closing commentary. "The owner plans to rebuild with governement loans..." |
| Content | The information the news story provides. |
| Photo Journalists | these journalists decide how the news will look |
| Camera Shot | What viewers see on the screen |
| Cover Shot | camera shot that sets the scene or setting of the story |
| Long Shot | A camera shot from far away |
| wall paper | an interesting image shown behind the anchor's narration; can be distracting, however. |
