energy The ability to do work or cause a change
potential energy the energy something has because of its position
kinetic energy energy of motion
thermal energy a form of energy that is created using heat. This form of energy makes particles of matter move faster.

light energy the form of energy associated with visible light
solar energy energy from the sun
