In the U.S. you can move up and down the social ladder and are not ascribed a status. In the caste system you are born into that social class and it determines your job. You cannot move out of it. Be prepared to discuss 5 characteristics that distinguish minority groups from other groups in society.
What are affirmative action programs and what are they designed to accomplish? Example of legal efforts to achieve equal rights; Programs are designed to correct past imbalances in the educational & employment opportunities given to minority groups. give preference to racial & ethnic minorities & women for jobs & school admission
