What is a "living funeral?" A type of funeral where the person is alive and other people pay tribute to the person.
What was Mitch's dream job and did he succeed? He wanted to be a musician, he played the piano. No, he did not succeed because his uncle was dying of cancer so he took care of him.
How did Mitch's life change after his uncle's funeral? He went back to school and got his masters degree in journalism. He got a job writing for the Detroit Free Press. Then got married to Janine.
How did Morrie get the attention of a producer of the ABC show,"Nightline"? One of his friends sent in some of his notebooks of writing and the Boston Globe report released a story on Morrie.
How is a television involved in Mitch's reconnecting with Morrie? It's how he first learned that Morrie was dying. He saw the Nightline special.
How does Mitch feel while sitting in his car as he arrives to Morrie's house? He feels that he should happy to see his professor but he is the opposite of happy.
According to Morrie, Why are so many of the people that visit him unhappy? THe world is teaching the wrong things and the culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves
What does Morrie mean when he says. "Create your own culture"? Create your own life, create your own world, and be creative.

Why does Morrie become emotional and cry during his interview with Ted Koepell? He starts reading a letter that mentions a death and he thinks of his mothers.

What is Morrie's theory on "Detaching from emotions"? If you hold back on emotions you never allow yourself to go all the way through them.
Why hasn't Mitch spoken to his brother in a long time? His brother got pancreatic cancer like his uncle and moved to Spain and refuses to speak to anyone from his family.
Mitch describes Morrie as being a peacemaker. Describe the example in the book that shows Morrie's ability to make peace. A group of black students took over Ford Hall on the Brandeis campus. Morrie happen to be walking by. got a list of things they wanted and crawled through a window and gave the list to the university president and the problem was solve peacefully.
Why does Morrie embrace aging? Aging is not just decay, you grow to die eventually.
What does Morrie mean when he says "I am every age"? Because of his disease he is becoming like a young child but still thinks like an adult.
What are Morrie's thoughts on money? Money is not a subsitution for tenderness.
What is Morrie's answer to his question, "You know what really gives you satisfaction?" Offering others what you have to give.
Does Morrie worry about being forgotten after he dies? No, because so many people have came to see him. So many know about him.
How does Morrie want his passing to be different from his parents? Morrie wants his love ones around him knowing what was going to happen.
Who is Janine? What is her profession? How is she important? Janine is Mitch's wife. She is a singer. She comes with Mitch on the tenth Tuesday because Morrie asks to see her. She also sings to Morrie.
Explain what Morrie means by "building your own subculture." What our culture wants you to believe, DON'T BELIEVE!
Morrie says that the world may be a better place if we can learn WHAT LESSON? Be compassionate and take responsibility for each other.
Morrie shares his latest aphorism in this chapter...What is it? Don't let go too soon, but don't hang on too long; When it's time you let go
Who is Norman? What does Morrie regret involving Norman? A friend of Morries who made him a sculpture. He never got to reconnect with after he moved away before he died of cancer.
