Fiction Terms Practice

TermDefinition
Narrator The person telling the story; the point of view.
Setting The time, place, and duration of a story. Answers the questions when, where, and how long.
Plot The series of events tht make up the beginning, middle and end of a story.
Conflict The problem in the story.
Internal Conflict The character has a problem with feelings inside his/her own mind or thoughts.
External Conflict The character has problems with another character or some other outside force.
Character Traits How a character talks, thinks, acts, and responds.
Character Any person or animal that is in a story.
Theme The author's lesson, message, or moral about life.
Resolution Final outcome of the story.
