TermDefinition
Connotation The suggesting of a meaning by a word apart from the thing it explicitly names or describes; the emotional 'charge' associated with a word or image.
Euphemism The substitution of an agreeable or inoffensive (positively connotative) expression for one that may not offend or suggest something unpleasant; the expression so substituted.
Objective Not influenced by personal feelings or prejudice <an objective opinion on> ???
Subjective Not objective (that is-one who is influenced By personal feelings, or prejudice, or an opinion decision that is so influenced.
Bowlderize To deceptively edit; to intentionally twist or take out of context what someone said or wrote
Colloquial Used in our characteristic of familiar and informal conversation; too informal (usually describing speech/ writing, like slang)
Myopic Characterized by a lack of foresight. Unable to see consequences; short sighted ("You couldn't see that coming?")
Un(Orthodox) Conforming to established doctrine especially in religion... conventional Un- different, strange, unusal
Disingenous Lacking in candor; giving a false appearance of simple frankness- dishonest
Specious Having deceptive attraction of allure; having a false look of truth or genuineness- dishonest
Spurious Outwardly similar or corresponding to something without having its genuine qualities... of falsified or erroneously attributed origin; forged
Impetuos marked by impulsive venemense or passion, rashimpetuoysness
Nostalgic Characterized by a wistful or sentimental longing for places, things, acquaintances or conditions belonging to the past.
