Math Vocabulary

WordDefinition
arc Part of a circle between two points
bar graph A graph with horizontal or vertical bars that displays data.
broken-line graph A line graph that shows two or more lines.
circle graph also called a pie chart
graph key a tool to help interpret the graph
line graph data points connected with line segments
line plot a way to collect data and shows frequency
median the middle value in a set of data
mode the value that occurs the most in a set of data
percent circle a tool on the geometry template
range the difference between the maximum and the minimum in a set of data
sector a piece of the pie
stem-and-leaf plot a way to organize data in which the data pieces are divided by place value
step graph a coordinate graph with short, vertical line segments
