Literary Genres

autobiography A person's life story written by himself or herself (non-fiction)
fantasy Highly imaginative fiction that uses strange or unusual character,setting,and plot (fiction)
informational Articles that give facts on a variety of subjects. (non-fiction)
science fiction Fiction that deals with phonema or technology (fiction)
mystery Story that includes secrets or crimes to be solved (fiction and non-fiction)
realistic fiction Believeable fiction that is set in the present ; characters take part in activies that could have happened (fiction)
folk tale A story that has no known author and was generally passed on from 1 generation to another word of mouth (fiction)

poetry A kind of rhythmic,compressed language that uses figures of speech and imagery to appeal to our emotions and imagintaion. Written in LINES and STANZAS (fiction and non-fiction)
