Angle Terms

Vocabulary for Angles Types and Pairs

TermDefinition
Acute Angle Angle whose measure less than 90 degrees.
Obtuse Angle Angle whose measure is greater than 90 degrees.
Right Angle Angle whose measure is equal to 90 degrees.
Complementary Angles Angles whose sum is equal to 90 degrees.
Supplementary Angles Angles whose sum is equal to 180 degrees.
Vertical Angles Opposite, congruent angles formed by intersecting lines.
Linear Pair Angles that share a common side and outside rays form a straight angle.
Adjacent Angles Angles that share a common side(ray).
Ray Contain one end point and extends indefinitely in the other direction.
Vertex Common endpoint of two rays that form an angle.
Straight Angle Angle whose opposite rays form a straight angle.
