Understanding variables in Science

TermDefinition
Independent The thing we change in our experiment
Dependent The thing we measure in our experiment
Control The variables which we have to keep the same in the experiment
Categoric Variables which are words which can be put into groups
Continuous Variables which are number which have any value
Discrete Variables which are numbers but can only have certain values
Ordered Variables which are words which can be put into an order eg small, medium and large
