Argument Vocab

QuestionAnswer
Claim Your argument or point you are trying to prove.
Reasons (sub-claims) The supporting reasons why you think your claim is true.
Evidence Data, statistics, or facts that help support your claim.
Warrant Connects your reasons and evidence to the major claim.
Rebuttal Acknowledging the argument for the other side.
Rhetoric Using language effectively and persuasively.
Exigence The issue the speaker is inspired to respond to.
Audience The intended person, people, or group the author is trying to speak out to.
Purpose The intended outcome of your argument.
Persuasion The position you are carrying.
