national anchor norms used to consider two tests that were normed by using the same sample
subgroup norms created when narrowly defined groups are samlped.
local norms derived from local population's performance on a measure.
norm-referenced consider the individual's score relative to the scores of test-takers in the normative sample
criterion referenced consider the individual's score relative to a specified criterion
