points an exact location in space labeled with a capital letter
angle a figure formed by 2 rays or 2 line segments with a common endpoint called a vertex
endpoint a point at the end of a line segment or ray
line a straight path that extends forever in opposite directions
line segment a part of a line between and including two endpoints
parallel lines lines in a plane that will never intersect
quadrangle/quadrilateral a 4 sided polygon
polygon A 2-dimensional figure formed by 3 or more line segments that meet only at their endpoints to make a closed path. The sides may not cross each other.
parallelogram a quadrilateral (4 sided figure) with 2 pairs of parallel sides. Opposite sides and angles have the same measure.
convex polygon A polygon on which all vertices appear to be "pushed outward"
concave polygon a polygon on which at least one vertex appears to be "pushed inward"
square a rectangle with all sides of equal length and all right angles
rhombus a parallelogram with all sides the same length
trapezoid a quadrangle that has exactly one pair of parallel sides
hexagon a 6 sided polygon
perpendicular lines two lines that intersect to form right angles
right angle an angle exactly 90 degrees making a square corner
