| Variable | A letter that is used to represent a number. |
| Equation | A math sentence formed by placing = between two expressions. |
| Expression | A sum, difference, product, or quotient of one or more terms. |
| Inequality | A math sentence formed by placing <, >, etc... between two expressions. |
| Distributive Property | An example of this is a(b + c) = ab + ac |
| Coefficient | The number part of a term with a variable. |
| Like Terms | Terms that have the same variables and the same exponents. |
| Inverse Operations | Operations that undo each other. |
| Literal Equation | An equation in which letters are used to replace the coefficients of another equation. |
| Solution of an Equation | A number that produces a true statement when substituted for the variable in an equation. |
| Solution of an Inequality | A number that produces a true statement when substituted for the variable in an inequality. |
| Explain | Tell about it in your own words. |
