Collard greens(n.) African American Soul Food, loose-leafed cultivars of Brassica oleracea, part of the Acephala Group which also contains cabbage and broccoli. Collard greens is a healthy green food.
Cower (v.) crouch down in fear We can't cower to our troubles.
Oppress (v.) keep (someone) in hardship by the unjust exercise of authority The slaves were oppressed by white people in hundred years.
Heritage (n.) property that is or may be inherited; an inheritance The Great Wall is a huge heritage of the history.
Doctrine (n.) a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church, political party, or other group. We want to adorn the doctrine of god our savior.
Lye (n.) a strongly alkaline solution, esp. of potassium hydroxide, used for washing or cleansing I usually to use the lye to clean my toilet.
Furtive (adj.) attempting to avoid notice or attention, typically because of guilt or a belief that discovery would lead to trouble; secretive. A man was furtive to come out the store.
Sidle (v.) sideways or obliquely I sidled up to pass the person next to me.
Mossy (adj.) covered in or resembling moss. This is a mossy rock.
Inference (n.) a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning. A right inference can help cases detected quickly.
Clabber (n.) milk that has naturally clotted on souring. Milk clabbers when vinegar is added.
Churn (v.) (of liquid) move about vigorously. The cream is ripened before it is churned.
Organdy (n.) a fine translucent cotton or silk fabric that is usually stiffened and used for women's clothing Her maid was in pink taffeta, veiled in white organdy, and carried pink roses.
Earnest (adj.) resulting from or showing sincere and intense conviction. I had an earnest desire to get an A on the test.
