average the sum of two or more quantities (numbers) divided by the number of quantities
bar graph a graph used to compare categories of data
frequency the number of times a number occurs
graph a visual way to display data
horizontaal axis the axis on which the categories or values are shown in a bar or line graph
integrers positive numbers, their opposites and zero
key a key explains the information on a graph
line graph is a graph that shows how a set of data changes over a period of time.
line plot a diagram that shows the frequency of data on a number line.
mean or average number- a set of data is the sum of the data divided by the number of pieces of data
measure of central tendency numbers that are used to describe the center of a set of data
median the middle number in a set of data when the data are arranged in numerical order.
mode the number(s) or item(s) that appear most often in a set of data
negative numbers a number that is less than 0.
opposites numbers that are the same distance from zero in opposite directions.
outlier a value that is much higher or much lower than the other values in a a set of data
positive number a number that is greater than 0.
range the difference between the greatest and least number in a set of data.
stem-and-leaf plot a graph that organizes data from least to greatest and place value.
vertical axis on a graph is shows the axis on which the scale and intervals are shown
interval On a scale or graph the parts are separated in equal parts
