| Reconstruction | a(12 year)period of time after the Civil War, in which the South was rebuilt (physically and economically) |
| memorial | something designed to preserve the memory of a person, event, etc., as a monument or holiday |
| summary | a brief statement or account of the main points of something |
| paraphrase | noun-a restatement of a text or passage n another form or other words, often to clarify meaning verb-to restate in a paraphrase |
| cytoplasm | a clear substance that consists of all the contents outside of the nucleus and enclosed within the cell membrane of a cell |
| cell | the smallest unit of living material having major structures within it allowing it to live cell membrane: the soft flexible outside covering of a cell that controls what comes in and out of a cell |
