Traditional Fiction Stories that were passed down through storytelling for years and years before finally being written down in books
Fantasy Has magical or unworldly elements
Science Fiction Has technology or medical advances of the future
Historical Fiction Set in a period of history
Realistic Fiction Fiction that seems like it could really happen
Genre Means "type" or "kind"
Fiction A made up story; not real
Nonfiction Text that gives factual, real information; it is true instead of being made up
Biography A true story that gives information about a person's life
Autobiography A true story that gives information about the author's life
