epic Def: a long narrative poem about the adventures of a hero
euphemism Def: the use of a word or phrase that is considered distasteful but is less expressive or direct
exposition Def: the intro to characters, background and setting of a short story or novel
external conflict Def: conflict between characters relating to the environment. Ex. Man Vs. Man or Man Vs. Nature
falling action Def: actions taking place at the climax.
figurative language Def:expressions or imaginative language that is not always true.
first person point of view Def: from the P.O.V of an individual
flashback Def: a sequence in a story that refers to an earlier event
Foreshadowing Def: a hint to a future event
Free Verse Def: poetry without regular patterns of rhyme or rhythm
