allegory Def: A story in which the characters, actions and objects have a meaning beyond the obvious.
alliteration Def: repetition of constant sounds at start of words
allusion Def: Reference to a mythological, literary or historical person, place or thing
archetype Def: An event that occurs several times. A character, situation or action that is a pattern of human life.
character Def: person, animal or imaginary creature in a story.
cliche Def: An overused expression or idea
connotation Def: feelings associated with a word.
denotation Def: An exact definition of a word
dialogue Def: conversation between two or more characters
diction Def: a word choice that conveys or represents a certain effect.
