Unit 1 Algebra Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Variable Symbols (normally letters) used to represent an unknown value.
Algebraic Expression One or more numbers and/or variables along with one or more arithmetic operation.
Terms Numbers, variables or the product of numbers and variables which are separated by addition or subtraction
Factors Quantities being multiplied (3's or variables) in a term
Coefficient The number in a term (not a constant)
Subsitution Property If two quanttities are equal then they can be switched in an expression
