| Computer Literacy | Having current knowledge and understanding of computers and how the work. |
| Computer | Electronic device that can store its own memoery and instructions to do something. Can also accept data and store results. |
| Data | Collection of unprocessed items, which can include text, numbers, images, audio, and video. |
| Information | Processed data that conveys meaning and is useful to people. |
| Information prosssecing cycle | Series of input, process, output, and storage activities performed by computers. |
| Hardware | Electric, electronic, and mechanical components contained in a computer. |
| Input devices | Keyboard, mouse, microphone, touch screens, webcam, digital camera, joystick, magnetic strip, biometruic devices. Something you put in. |
| Output devices | Moniter, speakers, printer, projector, message. Things that a computer puts out. |
| Storage devices | Hardware used to record items to and from storage media. Hard drive, Flash drive, the Cloud. |
| Hard drive | Storage device that contains one or more inflexible, circular platters that store data. |
| Flash drive | A removable memory card that can be inserted into other computers, mobile devices, or card reader. |
| System unit | Case that holds the electronic components of a computer. |
| Processor | A processor chip for a personal computer. |
| Memory | Components in a computer that store things |
| Motherboard | Main circuit board of a system unit. |
| Communication device | Any type of hardware capable of transmitting data. |
| Modem | Communication device that converts a computer's digital signals to analog signals. |
| Application software | Program designed to make users more efficient. |
| System software | Software the serves as the interface. |
| Personal computers | A computer that containsall neccisary components. |
| Mobile computers | A computer that can be moved around |
| Game consoles | Mobile computer devices that are designed for single or multi player video games. |
| Servers | Computer that controls access of resources on a computer. |
| Mainframe computers | Powerfull computers that can handlethousands of connectors. |
| Supercomputers | Fastest, most powerfull, and most expencive computer, capable of processing 135 instructions a second. |
| Embedded computers | Special-purpose computer that functions as a component in a larger product. |
