Nature of Science
| Term | Definition |

| Accuracy | Describes how close a measured value is to the true value of a quantity. |
| Controlled Experiment | Experiment involving manipulation of a single variable. |
| Precision | The degree of exactness with which a measurement is made. |
| Significant Figures | Digits in a measurement that are known with certainty plus the first digit that is uncertain. |
| Inverse Relationship | When a dependent variable decreases with an increase in the independent variable. |
| Direct Relationship | When a dependent variable increases with an increase in the independent variable. |
| Slope | Change in a line's y-value divided by a it's change in x-value. |
| Independent Variable | Factors that you are manipulating in your experiment. |
| Controlled Variable | A variable that is held constant. |
| Constant | A number expressing a property, quantity, or relation that remains unchanged under specified conditions. |
| Dependent Variable | The variable that responds to change in the independent variable. |
