Major System Numbers
Mnemonic device to remember large strings of numbers.
| Number | Letter |

| 0 | s, z, soft c (zero starts with "z") |
| 1 | t, d, th (t and d both have one downstroke) |
| 2 | n (n has 2 downstrokes) |
| 3 | m (m has 3 downstrikes) |
| 4 | r (four end in "r", 4 and R are almost mirror images of each other) |
| 5 | l (L is Roman Numeral for 50) |
| 6 | j, sh, soft g, soft ch (a script j has a lower loop, g looks like a rotated 6) |
| 7 | k, hard c, hard g, hard ch, q, qu, sometimes ng (capital K contains 2 7's) |
| 8 | f, v (script f resembles a figure-8) |
| 9 | p, b (p is a mirror image of 9, b resembles a 9 rolled around) |
