Algebra vocabulary

Variable A symbol that represents a number (n) +2
Coefficient A number that accompanies the variable and represents multiplication
Algebraic expression Variables and numbers, and at-least one operation
Algebra Mathematics with variables
Equation A sentence that contains 2 expressions separated by an equal sign
Solution Finding the numerical value for the variable that makes it true, by using opposite operations
Distributive properly Distributing by multiplication the number inside the parentheses to the numbers inside the parentheses
Commutative properly 2 numbers added or multiplied will equal the same total
Associative property The way 3 are grouped when adding or multiplying does not change the sum or total
Identity property The som of a # plus 0 will equal the #.the product of a # times one will always equal the #
