| Term | Definition |

| Undergraduate | a student in a university or college who has not received a first, especially a bachelor's, degree. |
| Graduate Student | a student who continues studies after graduation |
| Alumni | a graduate or former student of a specific school, college, or university. |
| Admission | an act or condition of being received or accepted in a position, profession, occupation, or office; appointment |
| Bachelar's Degree | a degree awarded by a college or university to a person who has completed undergraduate studies. |
| Associate's Degree | a degree granted especially by junior colleges after completion of two years of study. |
| ACT | a major test that ranges in what you test on |
| SAT | a major test that focuses on one main subject |
| Transcript | an official report supplied by a school on the record of an individual student, listing subjects studied, grades received, etc. |
| Financial Aid | money to support a worthy person or cause |
| Major | a subject or field of study chosen by a student to represent his or her principal interest and upon which a large share of his or her efforts are concentrated |
| Minor | of or pertaining to a field of study constituting a student's minor. |
| Credits | official acceptance and recording of the work completed by a student in a particular course of study. b. a credit hour. |
| Public College | a school funded by the state |
| Private College | a school funded by their own money |
