College Vocablary

TermDefinition
Undergraduate A student in a university or college that has not received their first degree.
Graduate Student A student who continues studies after graduation.
Alumni A student that has graduated a certain school or university.
Admission The granted permission to enter.
Bachelor's Degree A degree awarded to a student that has completed undergraduate studies.
Associate's Degree A degree granted by junior colleges after completing of two years of study.
ACT Is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions in the United States.
SAT Is a standardized test for most college admissions in the United States.
Transcript An official report supplied by a school on the record of an individual student, listing subjects studied, grades received, etc.
Financial Aid Money to support a certain person or cause.
Major A subject or field of study chosen by a student to represent his or her principal interest and upon which a large share of his or her efforts are concentrated.
Credits All hours you take towards graduating.
Private College also known as independent schools, are not administered by local, state or national governments.
Public College a university that is predominantly funded by public means through a national or subnational government
