| Term | Definition |

| Undergraduate | A student in a university or college that has not received their first degree. |
| Graduate Student | A student who continues studies after graduation. |
| Alumni | A student that has graduated a certain school or university. |
| Admission | The granted permission to enter. |
| Bachelor's Degree | A degree awarded to a student that has completed undergraduate studies. |
| Associate's Degree | A degree granted by junior colleges after completing of two years of study. |
| ACT | Is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions in the United States. |
| SAT | Is a standardized test for most college admissions in the United States. |
| Transcript | An official report supplied by a school on the record of an individual student, listing subjects studied, grades received, etc. |
| Financial Aid | Money to support a certain person or cause. |
| Major | A subject or field of study chosen by a student to represent his or her principal interest and upon which a large share of his or her efforts are concentrated. |
| Credits | All hours you take towards graduating. |
| Private College | also known as independent schools, are not administered by local, state or national governments. |
| Public College | a university that is predominantly funded by public means through a national or subnational government |
