TermDefinition
adjacent angles Two angles that have a common vertex and one common side.
area The amount of surface inside a closed boundary. Area is measured in square units.
complementary angles Two angles whose measures have a sum of 90.
horizontal In a left right orientation; parallel to the horizon.
horizontal number line A number line that is drawn left to right; parallel to the horizon.
perimeter The distance around a closed 2-dimensional shape.
supplementary angles Two angles whose measures have a sum of 180.
vertex The point at which two line segments, lines or rays meet to form an angle.
vertical Upright; perpendicular to the horizon.
vertical number line A number line that is drawn upright; perpendicular to the horizon.
