Muench Math Vocab A

TermDefinition
congruent Having exactly the same size and shape.
diameter A line segment that passes through the center of a circle and has endpoints on the circle. Twice the radius.
line A set of points that extends without end in two opposite directions.
line segment Part of a line with a point at each end.
midpoint A point that is equal distance from the two endpoints of a line segment.
parallel Lines, rays, or line segments that are the same distance apart and never meet.
perpendicular Lines, rays, or line segments that meet at right angles.
radius A line segment from the center of a circle to any point on the circle. One half the diameter.
ray A part of a line that has one endpoint and extends without end in one direction.
similar Exactly the same shape but not the same size.
