What did the officials in the Tribune of Plebs do? they represented the Plebeians in the Senate and with the consuls
What power did the Tribune of Plebs have? to veto, or overrule decisions made by the Senate
How many tribunes were there? originally two, but this grew to ten
What was the first thing the plebeians demanded and received from their protests? the laws to be written down
Where were the laws published? On tablets called the Twelve Tables
What was the second thing the plebeians demanded and got? one of the consuls had to be a plebeian. this made it so that one of the senators was a plebeian
What was the final thing the plebeians got? Got the rights to pass laws for all Roman citizens
Did plebeians eventually gain political equality with patricians? yes
How long did it take for plebeians to gain political equality? 200 years
what is a constitution? a set of basic laws
what is civic duty? a responsibility to act with appropriate behaviors in a community - obeying laws, etc.
