alliteration the repettition of simailar consant sounds
antagonist a character or force in conflict wit a main character,or protagonist
characterization characterization refers to what someone is like- what thier qualities
conflict a problem or struggle between two or more forces
dialect form of language that is spokenin a paticular place or by a particular group of people
dialogue written conversation between two or more characters
external conflift a problem or struggle between a character and an outside force
first person point of view the events are told by a character in the story
flash back a section in literary piece that interrupts the sequence of events in order to relate an earlier incident or set of event
foreshadowing an authors use of hints or clues to give a reader an idea of what may happen next
hyperbole use of extreme exaggeration
imagery words or phrases that appeal to one or more of the five senses and help and help to create vivid decription for the reader
inference a conclusion drawn by the reader based on avalible information
internal conflict a problem within a character
metaphor a figure of speech in which something is something is described as if it were something else; a comparison made without using "like" or "as".
