plane Infinite flat surface
parallel lines in a plane that never meet
transversals a line intersecting two or more lines
alternate interior angles a pair of angles formed by two lines and a transversal
corresponding angles angles formed by two lines and a transversal
vertical angles angles on opposite sides of the intersection or two lines
mid point where two lines intersect
congruent segments equal lengths
segment bisector passes through the midpoint
perpendicular lines, rays, and line segments form right angles.
perpendicular bisector a line, ray, or segment that interescts a segment at its midpoint and is perpendicular to it.
ray a line with an endpoint
angle two rays with a common endpoint
vertex the common endpoint
acute angle an angle that measures less than 90º
right angle an angle that measures exactly 90º
obtuse angle an angle that measure greater than 90º and less than 180º
straight angle an angle that measures exactly 180º (makes a straight line)
