Autobiography- the life story of a person as told by them
Biography the life story of person told by another person
Fable fictional tale that teaches a moral lesson/includes animals with human characteristics
Legend a traditional or historical story that is believed to be true by many, but never verified
Myth- a traditional or sacred story used to explain a belief or natural happening
Alliteration the repetition of the same sound at the beginning or during a poem
Antagonist the person in the story who opposes the main character
Central character the main character in a story
Conflict event in the story that brings about a dramatic action, central to the plot of the story
Figurative Language use of imagery, metaphors, and other sensory language used to make writing more interesting
Genre- how writing is classified, ex: fiction, non-fiction, historical fiction, drama, fantasy

Hyperbole extreme exaggeration
