TermDefinition
Radians the inverse function of the cosine; the angle that has a cosine equal to a given number.
Degrees a specific identifiable position in a continuum or series.
Coterminal Angle drawn in the standard position and have terminal sides in the same location.
Quadrantal Angle Angles in the standard position where the terminal side lies on the x or y axis
Unit Circle a radius of one, located centered at the origin.
Reference Angle The smallest angle that the terminal side of a given angle makes with the x-axis.
Sine the length of the opposite side divided by the length of the hypotenuse.
Cosine the length of the adjacent side divided by the length of the hypotenuse.
Tangent the opposite side over the adjacent side.
Cosecant the length of the hypotenuse divided by the length of the opposite side.
Secant the length of the hypotenuse divided by the length of the adjacent side.
Cotangent inverse ratio of the adjacent to the opposite side of a right-angled triangle.
Arcsine the inverse function of the sine; the angle that has a sine equal to a given number.
Arccos the inverse of the cosine function. It returns the angle whose cosine is a given number.
Arctan the inverse of the tangent function. It returns the angle whose tangent is a given number.
Law of sines the ratio of each side of a plane triangle to the sine of the opposite angle is the same for all three sides and angles
Law of cosines the square of a side of a plane triangle equals the sum of the squares of the remaining sides minus twice the product of those sides and the cosine of the angle between them

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
