Simple machines for science class - Mrs. Ball

first class lever has the fulcrum between the effort arm and the load
second class lever has the fulcrum at one end and the effort arm at the other end. the load is in the middle
third class lever has the fulcrum at one end and the load at the other end
pulley a wheel that has a groove along its edge and a rope or chain goes in the groove
wheel and axle either a wheel turns an axle or an axle turns a wheel around a central pivot
screw inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder or cone
inclined plane a flat slopping surface
wedge made up of one or two inclined planes
