Chemical Formula an expression that indicates the number and type of atoms present in the smallest representative unit of a substance.
Octet Rule atoms react so as to acquire the stable electron structure of a noble gas.
Ionic Bond the force of attraction binding oppositely charged ions together.
Electron Dot Structure a depiction of valence electrons around the symbol of an element.
Valence Electrons an electron in the highest occupied energy level of an atom.
Cation any atoms or group of atoms with a positive charge.
Anion any atoms or group of atoms with a negative charge.
Ionic Compound a compound composed of a cation and anion.
