Long and Tiresome; Boring Tedious Sentence: It was a tedious, boring day at school.
Great Suffering Caused by Worry, Grief, or Pain; Agony Anguish Sentence: My great grandfathers death caused a lot of pain and anguish for my family.
To Tease or make fun of in a rude or mean way. Taunt Sentence: It is not nice to taunt or make fun of anyone.
Not Sure about an outcome: Doubtful Dubious Sentence: I want to publish my book, but I am dubious about the outcome,.
Watchful and Alert, especially to guard against danger. Vigilant Sentence: When my sister drives the car she is vigilant for any danger.
Not having or showing the proper respect; Rude. Insolent Sentence: The student was insolent and rude to the teacher.
Having or showing great Pride in oneself; Proud; Arrogant. Haughty Sentence: The girl was arrogant and haughty to her friends about her new clothes.
To give into the wishes of; to Humor. Indulge Sentence: I like to indulge and humor my cousin's choice in movies.
To get Control over someone or something; to overcome. Subdue Sentence: I try to subdue and control my fears about taking tests.
To Decide; Make up one's Mind. Resolved Sentence: I'm resolved in my mind to make good choices in life.
PATTERN STATEMENT FOR PLOT When trying to reach a goal or solve a problem, anticipation rises until something happens that influences the outcome.
Process Question 1: What is the MAIN CHARACTER TRYING TO ACHIEVE or What PROBLEM Does he have?
Process Question 2: What are the EVENTS that RELATE to the GOAL or Problem
Process Question 3: How is the PROBLEM RESOLVED or the Goal Achieved (RESOLUTION)?
Process Question 4: What is the Turning Point (CLIMAX) that leads to the storys resolution?
Process Question 5: What events (FALLING ACTION)occur after the climas that lead to the resolution?
Process Question 6: What events (DENOUNCEMENT) happen after the resolution?
Process Question 7: What specific CHARACTERISTICS of the Main Character (ex. Diligence, justice) move him/her from the Goal/problem to the Resolution in the Plot?
