TermDefinition
Volume The measure of space occupied by a solid object.
Monomial An expression that is made up of one term.
Surface Area The number of square units that cover a solid object.
Square Root The opposite operation of squaring a number.
Polygon A two dimensional figure made by line segments.
Scientific Notation A shortcut way of writing very large or small numbers.
Pythagorean Theorem Used to describe the relationship between the sides of a right triangle.
Supplementary Angles Two angles that add up to 180 degrees.
Irrational Number As a decimal, a number that never repeats or terminates.
Complementary Angles Two angles that add up to 90 degrees.
Slope A ratio that measures the steepness of a line.
Diameter The distance across a circle through its center.
Linear Equation An equation whose graph is a line.
Radius The distance from the center to any point on a circle.
Congruent Geometric objects having the same size and shape.
