TermDefinition
abstemious Someone who is abstemious avoids doing too much of something enjoyable such as eating ordrinking.
alleviate If you alleviate pain, suffering, or an unpleasant condition, you make it less intense or severe.
amphibious In an amphibious military operation, army and navy forces attack a place from the sea.
blatant You use blatant to describe something bad that is done in an open or very obvious way.
carnage Carnage is the violent killing of large numbers of people, especially in a war.

decadent If you say that a person or society is decadent, you think that they have low moral standards and are interested mainly in pleasure.
