TermDefinition
Access Copyright It provides people with the ability to copy from many copyright protected materials while ensuring creators and publishers are fairly compensated.
Copyright It is the exclusive legal right to reproduce, publish and sell a work.
Intellectual Property It is the legal rights to ideas, interventions and creations in the industrial, scientific, literacy and artistic fields.
Royalty It is the payment to an owner for the use of property copyrighted works, franchises or natural resources.
Trade-Marks It is a word, design, or a combination of both to identify goods or services of one person or an organization.
Public Domain It refers to works that belong to the public. It can be used free of charge and doesn't require written permission from the author/creator.
Moral Rights They are rights provided to creators under copyright laws to protect their reputation and the integrity of their work.
Performing Rights It is the right to perform music in public. It is included in the copyright law and the payment goes to the music's composer and publisher.
Plagiarism It is the act of taking another's writing, conversation, song or even an idea and passing it off as your own.
Fair Dealing It is the use of content that are considered valid defenses to copyright infringement such as criticism and review.
Patent It is a government license that gives the holder exclusive rights to process and design on new intervention for a certain period of time.
Blanket Licenses It is a public performance license that allows the license the right to use any song under the supervision of a performing rights organization.
