| drama | a story that is enacted in real space and time by live actors for a live audience. |
| conflict | between two characters who want different things or same thing. |
| climax | action that determines how the conflict will be resolved. |
| resolution | conflict is resolved. |
| tradgic flaw | a personal failing, such as pride, rebellions, or jealousy(character flaw mean the same) |
| tradgedy | a play that ends unhappy. Ex. shows you difference |
| tradgic hero | is noble in many ways and admirable. |
| comedy | a play that ends happily. most common(boy meets girl,boy loses girl, boy wins girl) |
| stage | today vary greatly in dimension and layouts |
| scene design | transforms a bare stage into the play. consist of sets, lighting, costumes, and groups. |
| Stage direction | describes the setting and characters actions |
| dialogue | conversation |
| monologue | long speech given by one character to others |
| soliloquy | speech by a character alone onstage himself or herself to a audience |
| asides | remarks made to the audience or to one character; the other characters do not hear on aside |
| shakesphere | had to depend on the audience power of imagination |
