The States of Matter

| Sifting | A process in which smaller materials pass through holes, leaving the larger materials behind. |
| Magnetism | A force that pulls on certain objects. |
| Floatation | A process in which using a liquid to separate materials of different densities. |
| Filltration | A process in which the separating solids from liquids by passing a mixture filter. |
| Evaporation | The changing of water to water vapor. |
| Chromoatography | A process of separating substances by dissolving them in special liquids. |
| Solute | The substance that dissolves. |
| Solvent | The substance in which the solute is being dissolved. |
| Concentration | The concentration of the solution is a measure of the amount of solute compared to the amount of solvent. |
| Rate of Soltion | How quickly a solute dissolves. |
| Compund | Type of matter made of a combination of elements. |
| Pollution | The release of harmful things into the environment. |
