| oppression | harsh and authoritarian; weighing heavily on the mind or spirits |
| boycott | to refuse to have commerical or social dealing with (a person, organization, or country) as a punishment or protest |
| negotiate | try to reach an agreement or compromise by discussion; find a way over or through (an obstacle or difficult path) |
| resigned | accept that something undesirable cannot be avoided |
| comply | act in accordance with a wish or command; meet specified standards |
| inconvenience | the state or fact of being slightly troublesome or difficult |
| mobilize | organize (people or resources) for a particular task |
